About me

My name is Frank Johnson and I serve as Executive Director of Ewalu Bible Camp and Retreat Center. This space is curated for reflections on the ministry of Ewalu, the happenings around camp, and a place for sermons shared with churches around eastern Iowa.

I live in Strawberry Point, Iowa alongside my wife, Kate, and his kids, Natalie, Elias, and Wilder. In addition to serving at camp, I am a chess master and currently the highest rated player in Iowa; a hiker and adventure racer.

My first book, Rocks and Roots: Reflections on the Superior Hiking Trail (2021) is available at the the Ewalu online camp store.
